From the beautifully coloured bulbs to the vibrant leaves and stems, the entire beetroot can be used in various ways to make a huge variety of dishes to be enjoyed by all.  This “Super Food” packed with nutrients, antioxidants and, apparently, anti-inflammatory agents, is also a good source of fibre and low in calories, so the more ways that you can incorporate it into your diet, the better!  Cooking this earthy, sweet, root vegetable caramelizes the natural sugars, making them even more delicious and of course the fabulous colour adds a vibrant burst of colour to your meal.

In this session you’ll work together to prepare a variety of dishes, using the whole beetroot, and other ingredients provided, for a meal to be enjoyed as we sit, relax, chat, and enjoy lunch to finish the session.  Of course, if there is beetroot, there must be pickled beetroot, so you will also take home a jar of pickled beetroot prepared on the day!

This dough is great, easy to make and, yes,

No soggy pizzas or calzone, in fact, we have been known to take the calzone cold for picnics – they are delicious and make great lunch box food too!.  Grissini are fabulous on grazing boards, as snacks or for something different with soup, and, well, pizza is just yummm and so easy to make!

On the day, working as a group, we will make up a batch or few of dough, then make classic pizzas, calzone and grissini to be shared by all, as we sit and relax to finish the session.
