Our Mum’s Dressing for Coleslaw
My mother gave this recipe to my sister, Sonya quite a few years ago, and Sonnie made coleslaw using the dressing for Aussie’s 18th birthday celebrations. The majority of people thought it to be much nicer than the traditional creamy style dressing.

- 1 cup raw sugar
- 1 cup vinegar
- 1 tsp celery salt
- ¾ cup oil
- 1 tsp mustard powder
- 1 tbs horseradish cream
- Salt & pepper
Sprinkle the raw sugar over the salad.
Place remaining ingredients into a saucepan and bring to the boil. Boil for 2 minutes.
Pour over salad, straight away and leave until ready to serve.
Just before serving toss the salad and place into a serving dish.
- You may need to drain some of the dressing off before serving.
