Miso Soup
O-hitashi (spinach rolled as for sushi)
Nasu Dengaku (eggplant with miso)
Yakitori, (grilled chicken and vegetable skewers)
Nikudango (Japanese Pork Meatballs)
Namasu (pickled daikon and carrot salad)
Slow-Cooked Shiitake with Tamari
Ingen no Goma-ae (beans tossed in a delicious sweet, savoury sesame sauce)
Tamago-yaki (rolled omelette)

Work together to prepare a meal of traditional Japanese dishes, including slow cooked shiitake, O-hitashi (spinach rolled as for sushi), Nasu No Misoyaki (eggplant with miso & chicken), yakitori, (grilled chicken and vegetable skewers), Japanese pickles and more. Not only will these dishes be enjoyed for our lunch, they will also be used to assemble a bento box style meal for you to take home.

As we work through the recipes, we will discuss why these recipes have been chosen, allowing us to explore the key elements to take into consideration when packing your bento box.

On the day:
※  Participants will be provided with ingredients, instructions and guidance as they prepare the various delicious dishes on the day.
※  Learn the elements required to assemble a traditional bento box meal.
※ 
We will finish the session enjoying the delicious meal prepared on the day, as we sit, eat, chat and relax.
※  All food will be gluten free.

What you will take home:
※  Recipes for all dishes prepared on the day.
※  Your bento made up in an environmentally friendly container, to take home and enjoy.
※  Leftovers of the dishes prepared on the day (.

※  Maybe a new friendship with other’s who attend on the day.

Session Duration:
The session will run for approximately 4 hours.

More Information:
I prefer not to call this a cooking class, but more of a hands-on cooking and knowledge sharing session, where those attending learn and share from my experience. I am not a trained chef, just taught and guided by my experiences, and driven by my love of cooking, sharing, and celebrating with food.
