Braised Cabbage with Salami


  • 1/4 cabbage, finely shredded
  • 1 tbs olive oil
  • 2 shallots, finely sliced
  • 150 g thinly sliced salami
  • 1/4 cup water
  • Salt
  • Freshly ground black pepper


  1. In a large pot, add the oil and cook the salami until it just starts to crisp on the edges, reduce heat.
  2. Add the shallots, season with salt and pepper, and saute until they begin to soften a little.
  3. Add the cabbage and water. Stir to mix.
  4. Place lid on pan and braise over a gentle heat until the cabbage has wilted, stirring occasionally, about 30 minutes.
  5. Serve immediately.
